Together, we identify goals, supports, triggers, grounding tools, and whether EMDR is appropriate for your needs.
Online EMDR and trauma therapy
If a past experience still brings intrusive memories, panic, grief, shame, or strong body responses, we can explore whether online EMDR is clinically appropriate and how to proceed safely.
You may notice intrusive memories, panic, shame, numbness, anger, avoidance, sleep disruption, or a sense of being pulled back into something that happened before.
EMDR uses brief focus on distressing material with bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sound. Together, we work toward helping the nervous system process what has felt stuck so memories and triggers may feel less immediate.
Sessions may be held in English, Tamil, or both when useful. Learn about language and cultural context.
Before memory processing, we review safety, history, coping tools, clinical appropriateness, and the plan for the work.
Together, we identify goals, supports, triggers, grounding tools, and whether EMDR is appropriate for your needs.
When you feel ready, we begin brief sets of bilateral stimulation while you notice thoughts, feelings, images, or body sensations.
Together, we check what changed, strengthen helpful beliefs, and use grounding before the session ends.
EMDR is a clinical therapy that should be provided by a properly trained and licensed mental health clinician.
In a consultation, we can talk about the memories, body responses, or triggers affecting you and whether EMDR may be appropriate online.
